Many people dream of the perfect wedding, spent with family, friends and loved ones. For some people they choose a church, a garden or even the beach, but for one couple, they took to the depths of La Jolla Cove in California to exchange vows.

Avid SCUBA divers, Crystal and Mark Vartanian were married under water in California. They, along with their 65 wedding guests all donned SCUBA gear for the event.

Because of the water conditions, they had to wear 7mm wetsuits for enhanced thermal protection because of the colder waters. They even utilized full face masks to be able to communicate under water with their marriage celebrant.

And of course nothing could quite top off an under water wedding than the bride wearing a flowing white wedding dress over her wetsuit and the rings being delivered by a “mermaid”.
